What Is The Eligibility For CTET 2023 ?

CTET is a national-level eligibility exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The CTET exam is held every year to determine candidates' eligibility for appointment as teachers in Central Government Schools such as KVS, NVS, and others.

Candidates should be Class 12 pass with a minimum of 45 per cent aggregate in order to be qualified for the CTET exam for primary teacher. Candidates should be graduated with a minimum of 45 per cent aggregate or Class 12 with at least 50 per cent aggregate in order to be qualified for the CTET exam.

CTET Eligibility

CTET Eligibility For Paper 1

– Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR – Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam securing a minimum of 45 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). 

CTET Eligibility For Paper 2

– Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in the final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR – Graduation degree with 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in the final year exam of BEd.

CTET Eligibility For Paper 2(Contd.)

– Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. OR – Graduation degree with 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in BEd program of 1-year duration.

The CBSE accepts applications only from those candidates who fulfil the CTET eligibility criteria 2023. The CBSE itself fixes the CTET eligibility criteria for Paper 1 and Paper 2 based on the TET guidelines framed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
