Even though the terms ‘businessman’ and ‘entrepreneur’ are used interchangeably but they do not mean the same thing.
A businessman runs an undertaking or a business, whereas an entrepreneur runs a startup with an original, innovative idea.
Entrepreneur comes with a ‘new’ idea whereas the businessman does business in an existing market. An entrepreneur can become a businessman in future.
An entrepreneur is a market leader while a businessman is a market player. As entrepreneurs create a market for their business idea while the businessman makes a place for himself in an existing market.
An entrepreneur uses unconventional methods to run his business whereas as a businessman runs his business with a more traditional approach, since he is in an existing market.
Hence, an entrepreneur is different from a businessman as an entrepreneur is known to be a risk taker while businessman are known to be competitors.
