Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admissions to MBA/PGDM courses. Qualifying candidates are eligible for admission to 800+ B-schools accepting MAT scores.
The syllabus for MAT has been designed to test an MBA aspirant's analytical skills, logical aptitude, English comprehension and general awareness. Every section of the MAT exam has an equal number of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
Language Comprehension consists of Reading Comprehension, Para jumbles, Fill in the blanks, One Word Substitution, etc. Math includes Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Number System, Percentage, LCM & HCF, etc.
Data Analysis & Sufficiency
This section includes Tables, Charts, Pie Charts, Bar Diagrams, Caselet-based Data, Venn Diagram, Graphs, Data Comparison, Data Sufficiency, etc.
Intelligence & Critical Reasoning
Intelligence & Critical Reasoning section includes topic such as Blood Relation, Family Tree, Coding & Decoding, Numeric Grid, Syllogism, Clocks, Calendars, Visual Reasoning, etc.
Since, MAT is accepted by MBA colleges for Executive MBA, Online MBA, Part-Time MBA and Distance MBA courses too, a good number of working professionals appear for the MAT exam. MAT is also popular among Management aspirants and working professionals as it is an easy exam and one can prepare for it while working as well. It is easier to strike work and study balance in MAT.
