Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admissions to MBA/PGDM courses. Qualifying candidates are eligible for admission to 800+ B-schools accepting MAT scores.
MAT pattern is prescribed by the All India Management Association (AIMA).. MAT exam pattern is same for all the three modes, CBT, PBT, IBT. The exam duration is of 150 minutes.
MAT Paper has five sections - – Language Comprehension – Data Analysis & Sufficiency – Mathematical Skills – Intelligence & Critical Reasoning – Indian & Global Environment
Total Number Of Questions
The total number of questions are 200. Eaxh section consists of 40 questions. The total marks of the paper is 200.
MAT Marking Scheme
The MAT paper pattern is such that every section carries equal weightage of 40 marks. For each correct answer, 1 mark is awarded. For each wrong attempt, 0.25 marks are deducted. No marks are deducted for unanswered questions. Indian and Global Environment section's score is not considered for calculating MAT percentile.
Since, MAT is accepted by MBA colleges for Executive MBA, Online MBA, Part-Time MBA and Distance MBA courses too, a good number of working professionals appear for the MAT exam. MAT is also popular among Management aspirants and working professionals as it is an easy exam and one can prepare for it while working as well. It is easier to strike work and study balance in MAT.
