From imparting life skills and mentoring children to providing shelter for homeless people, the NGOs in India are bringing change one step at a time.
BVS is dedicated to the welfare of beggars and homeless people. They run shelters, rehabilitation programs, and vocational training to help beggars reintegrate into society.
Karuna Trust works to provide healthcare, education, and livelihood support to marginalized communities, including homeless individuals and beggers.
Aasra Foundation focuses on destitute and homeless individuals, including beggars. They provide food, shelter, healthcare, and vocational training to help them regain their dignity.
While primarily focused on the elderly, HelpAge India also supports homeless and destitute individuals, including beggars, by providing food, shelter, and healthcare services.
NGOs could help in reducing poverty in a variety of pathways including access to water supply and sanitation facilities, improving nutrition, education, health facilities, skill training, increased savings, etc.
