Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a business aptitude test of three hours conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBA/PGDM courses. The CMAT is one of the most popular MBA entrance exams in India.
CMAT is an MCQ-based entrance test for admission to MBA/PGDM courses. About 70,000 candidates appear for it every year. The exam is conducted over 124 test centers.
CMAT score is accepted by about 1,300 B-schools (government and private) in India including Great Lakes Institute of Management, JBIMS, SIMSREE, K J Somaiya Mumbai, Welingkar Mumbai and PUMBA.
CMAT Admission Process
Most of the B-Schools conduct Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) to select candidates for MBA/PGDM programmes post the declaration of CMAT exam result. Each institute conducts the admission independently and according to their academic cycle. Candidates must fill the admission forms of their preferred institutes to be eligible for selection process.
What Is The Benefit Of Giving CMAT?
CMAT exam is a moderate difficulty level exam so it is easier than CAT, XAT, IIFT, and GMAT. CMAT cut offs for admission to top colleges are not exceptionally high, so you can get a good MBA college with a decent CMAT score.
Once the CMAT result 2023 has been announced test takers will start looking for MBA colleges where they can apply for admission. MBA admissions through CMAT is based on minimum cut offs scores fixed by the institutes to shortlist candidates for the selection round which includes Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).
