Having watched Vasan Bala’s previous directorial venture, “Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota”, I decided to watch his next offering, “Monica, O My Darling” too. This dark comedy did keep me entertained for the most part of its 2h9m runtime.
Hindi songs with an old-timey feel to them, be it ‘Yeh Hai Zindagi’ or ‘Love You So Much I Want To Kill You’, have been used to set the mood in many sequences.
For film buffs, Bala’s Quentin Tarantino-esque sequences will add a layer to your appreciation of this film. I would tell you more but I don’t want to spoil it for you.

She is a bubbly yet deadly cop from Pune Police, Vijayshanti Naidu. In my opinion, this is one of her wackiest performances to date and her (dark) comic timing was pitch perfect.
