About Youth Ki Awaaz (YKA): Youth Ki Awaaz (YKA) is India’s largest civic engagement platform, amplifying youth voices on climate resilience, civic data, community engagement, and other social impact issues through storytelling, advocacy, and participatory leadership initiatives. With a focus on building scalable youth-led programs and integrating digital tools for engagement, YKA works at the intersection of media, governance, and activism to drive systemic change.As YKA expands its footprint in 2025, the Program Manager will play a key role in designing and executing high-impact programs, ensuring seamless implementation, deep community engagement, and alignment with YKA’s broader strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Climate Resilience & YouthACT Fellowship (Indore Initiative)
- Lead the implementation of YKA’s climate resilience initiative in Indore, in collaboration with Synergy Sansthan, AAs Indore, and the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA).
- Oversee the Adolescent Fellowship Program, ensuring structured training in leadership, storytelling, and policy engagement for 200 adolescent fellows.
- Ensure that adolescent fellows contribute to the YouthACT Framework, developing Indore-specific urban resilience strategies in partnership with municipal bodies.
- Facilitate engagement between fellows, policymakers, and community stakeholders, ensuring that adolescent voices shape climate adaptation strategies.
- Manage on-ground implementation, stakeholder coordination, and impact assessment, ensuring the program aligns with YKA’s advocacy and civic engagement goals.
- Work closely with YKA’s MEL partner (Start Up!) to co-design baseline assessments, ongoing program evaluations, and impact tracking mechanisms.
- Ensure that qualitative and quantitative data inform programmatic adaptations and strategic decision-making.
- Interface with the funding partner and ensure timely quality reporting and documentation. Ensure all processes for program execution are adhered to.
Program Development & Implementation
- Lead the design and execution of youth-led programs on issues such as mental health, disability and accessibility, civic data, and urban governance in line with YKA’s 2025 strategic priorities.
- Develop scalable program models that integrate community participation, storytelling, and advocacy to amplify youth voices on critical social issues.
- Ensure that program strategies align with YKA’s digital-first approach, leveraging social media, digital storytelling, and community-driven insights.
- Collaborate with YKA’s editorial, community engagement, and partnerships teams to ensure that programmatic efforts translate into compelling public narratives.
- Develop program impact reports, case studies, and knowledge products that contribute to YKA’s thought leadership and public advocacy.
Digital Campaigns & Strategic Communications
- Work with YKA’s content and social media teams to integrate program learnings and youth narratives into high-impact digital campaigns.
- Ensure that YKA’s programs are strategically positioned on media platforms, shaping youth-centered public discourse.
- Support the development of multimedia storytelling assets, ensuring that program outcomes reach key decision-makers and wider audiences.
Organizational Growth & Strategy for 2025
- Support YKA’s long-term programmatic expansion, fundraising, and impact scaling efforts.
- Identify opportunities to replicate and scale YKA’s civic engagement models in other geographies and thematic areas.
- Work closely with YKA’s leadership team to align programmatic initiatives with the organization’s broader growth strategy.
Stakeholder & Partner Engagement
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with funders, government agencies, grassroots organizations, and policy institutions.
- Act as the primary liaison between YKA and project partners, ensuring seamless coordination, knowledge exchange, and alignment with program goals.
- Lead multi-stakeholder dialogues and consultations, positioning YKA’s programs within broader advocacy and policy engagement frameworks.
- Strengthen institutional partnerships, ensuring that YKA’s community engagement and policy impact work is deeply connected to national and regional conversations.
Community Engagement & Fellowship Management
- Oversee YKA’s fellowship and leadership development programs, ensuring structured mentorship, peer learning, and public engagement.
- Work closely with local partners, educators, and community facilitators to enhance participation from diverse and marginalized youth communities.
- Ensure that program activities foster active civic participation, equipping young people with the tools to influence policy, public discourse, and governance.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in program management, civic engagement, or social impact sectors.
- Strong expertise in stakeholder engagement, community-driven program design, and multi-stakeholder coordination.
- Experience working on climate action, mental health, disability rights, urban governance, or civic data initiatives is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, oversee budgets, and drive multi-partner collaborations.
- Strong digital fluency, with an understanding of digital media campaigns, social media strategy, and youth engagement models.
- Experience managing fellowship programs and leadership development initiatives is a plus.
- Passion for youth leadership, civic action, and community-driven advocacy.
