Tokyo Treasures – (Book Review): The Best Travel Diary Ever Written

This is a travel book written by an 8-year-old boy-Kabeer Kaushik, who studies in Goenka Public School, Dwarka. He is not an ordinary student, but a boy with a curious mind. The book, in detail, talks about his adventures in Japan and his experience from it. It has every information about the places, futuristic technology and culture of Japan.

The most interesting locations in Japan are-

i. Mount Fuji

ii. Disneyland

iii. Cherry blossom tree

iv. Harry Potter museum

v. Robotic hotel

Mount Fuji is the most epic place in Japan. The site of it looks dazzling. The mountain looks very cinematic from far away, that you cant take your eyes off it.

Who doesn’t love going to Disneyland. Everybody does! It’s the best place to go and cherish your childhood, meeting your beloved cartoon characters and smiling. Even hopping into theme park rides and enjoying your day.

Cherry Blossom Tree is considered the national flower of Japan. The blossoms have been described as having a Vanilla like smell. Wild species of Cherry tree are widely distributed, mainly in northern hemisphere.

Harry Potter Museum showcases the making of the franchise. From VFX to sets and props. The museum gives information how the film was made and the people involved in the project. Every element of the film has been shown in the museum. From wands to banquet halls. Even the famous beer from the world of Harry Potter –BUTTER BEER.

The Robotic Hotel showcases Japan’s push towards the future techno-era like Blade Runner and Cyberpunk. It also shows how Japan has advanced further with technology. It brings in more of the sci-fi vibe.

The futuristic elements like Robotic Hotel and 3D billboards show how much Japan has pushed the boundaries of technology. How much they are bringing in new innovative ideas every day. Its like you are living in 2080, where everything is relied on technology. In the Robotic Hotel, the servers are all robots. Including the waiters and managers. The bright side of using robots is that, how many human errors can be averted and the deadlines can be met.

The writing in the book is written in proper detail and is easy to understand. With the use of bold letters, it is very easy to read.

The photographs are interesting to view. It brings out the magical feel that, you are in Japan or you wish to be there. Each and every shot is filled with detail and is easy to understand. The best shots are Mount Fuji and 3D cat in Shinjuku.

This book is one of the best travel diaries ever written. The one thing I liked is the detail in the writing, which is very easy to read and understand. I really liked the boy’s effort. I motivate him to write more travel diaries.
