Impact of Girl Child Education: Breaking Barriers with Pehchaan The Street School

There is no doubt that education is important and empowering, we simply cannot imagine a world where we are unable to gain education. Yet thousands of people all around the world are being denied this basic human right. In India’ several socio-economic factors that come into play that don’t allow children to get an education include – not being able to afford to go to school, gender bias, accessibility issues, and many more.

Education is crucial for personal development, economic prosperity, and social cohesion. It empowers individuals with knowledge and skills that are helpful thus helping in bridging the economic gap and this in turn provides a place for innovation and creativity. Educated individuals promote health and well-being and reduce inequalities.

Pehchaan The Street School comes in when education is inaccessible, the School has been working strenuously towards making education easily accessible to all. This volunteer-driven organization provides free education to underprivileged children. They make Education free and accessible by ensuring that they have centers within the community

In India, it is far more difficult for girls to get an Education but education should be provided regardless of a person’s gender and this is exactly what Pehchaan The Street School is doing.

Why is education without gender disparity important? :

Off with Gender inequality: Girls are often denied education but providing education and raising awareness will get rid of gender disparities.

Empowerment: Education is empowering, it makes way for a better future. It helps them make decisions that are best for them and help them attain a better future. They will become more aware of all the social evils and they will be able to break away from it.

Increased sense of self-worth: Education increases self-worth as it’s empowering. People will be more aware of their capabilities when educated which increases their self-esteem and self-worth.

Economic benefits: When girls are educated they uplift their family and community. Pehchaan The Street School by providing education makes girls an active part of the workforce that contributes to the growth and development of the country.

Social Change: Education promotes equity and challenges traditional patriarchy and stereotypes that prevail in society. Through education, girls will be able to break away from societal constraints and will be able to pursue their dreams without anyone bothering them. Education also helps end child marriage as educated girls are less likely to get married. Pehchaan The Street School reduces child marriage rates by keeping children in school.
