Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi chief minister, has been experiencing a significant decline in health in recent weeks. Kejriwal is now held in Tihar Jail on accusations that have generated controversy and discussion of what BJP is doing with a public leader. His failing health has highlighted the complex interplay between human rights, political assassination, and legal responsibility in the Indian legal system curtailed by BJP’s union government. Most importantly Arvind kejriwal is arrested but he has not been proven guilty and in law it clearly states that “a person is innocent till proven guilty” but it’s very sad and harsh that the brutal government of BJP is acting like pre-independence.
Arvind Kejriwal’s physical health is said to have declined significantly, raising concerns about his well-being. It is also said that while he was imprisoned at Tihar Jail, he developed a high blood sugar level and was denied access to the proper medication by dishonest government agencies that BJP governments use as a weapon. Being a well-known person and a political opponent, his health has attracted a lot of attention.
He has demanded that proper medical treatment be provided in accordance with accepted human rights standards and the main reason for which he is denied medical facilities is because kejriwal provides basic free and top class facilities to people which people are looking for post independence. International agreements safeguard the fundamental human right to health and medical care, which is likewise upheld by Indian legislation. Article 21 of the Indian Constitution clearly guarantees the preservation of life and personal liberty, guaranteeing that every person, regardless of circumstances, has the right to live with dignity, including access to essential medical treatment.
India is required to protect the rights of people detained because it is a signatory to several international human rights treaties, such as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). This encompasses the entitlement to humane treatment and respect for the intrinsic worth of every individual, especially in situations where they are deprived of their freedom.
Furthermore, a growing concern in Indian politics of BJP is the weaponization of law enforcement organizations like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). These organizations, which are supposed to enforce the law impartially, have come under fire for allegedly using their power to target political rivals rather than focusing on delivering justice and accountability.
For a democratic society to function, these agencies must be impartial and independent. Claims of their abuse jeopardize democratic values and the rule of law by undermining public confidence in the justice system and the impartiality of law enforcement. BJP favors the state which they have seeked support for and betrays the state which has governments of Aam Aadmi Party and clear cut example was given by BJP’s union finance minister in Budget of 2024.
It is crucial that the values of justice, equity, and respect for human rights are maintained while the judicial process progresses. Since the judiciary is the guardian of justice, it is its responsibility to guarantee that everyone’s rights regardless of political affiliation are respected and safeguarded impartially.
In conclusion, Arvind Kejriwal’s apprehension underscores the criticality of safeguarding human rights, particularly in relation to law enforcement and political opposition. By upholding these rights, India supports democratic institutions and demonstrates its dedication to justice, equity, and the rule of law. Regardless of political differences and legal disputes, it is our collective responsibility as concerned citizens and democratic participants to ensure that fundamental rights are maintained and protected. Because their health and welfare are a reflection of our common commitment to justice and human dignity, they should never be in danger.
