Elections 2024

After almost a decade a return of coalition politics looks significant for a number of reasons at first representing the will and aspirations of people. Secondly, keeping a check and balance on misappropriation of power by a single party and individual as has been the precedence so far. Thirdly, guarding the autonomy of constitutional institutions and safeguarding the ethics and morality of our constitution. These are but few of the key takeaways of these elections with one party dominance and hegemony posing serious threats and dangers to the very fabric of this country, its plurality and diversity which was being challenged at every level and step as efforts to muzzle the spirit of composite culture was made with impunity. Be it any political party gaining absolute and complete control over the institutions fundamentally can alter its very characteristics as we saw in the case of Mr Modi who didn’t spare a moment from CBI to ED succumbing to pulls and pressures from the top loosing its sheen. Similarly, adversaries and opponents of ruling dispensation were booked on filmsy or frivolous charges bearing the brunt of law as the cases of political prisoners have increased manifold under the Modi regime for a massive majority it possessed both in 2014 and 2019- 282 and 303 respectively. But not anymore they will have to come to terms of accepting the reality for them 240 is totally unrealistic to fuel the reform story which they have been envisaging with TDP and JDU calling the shorts for Mr Modi is not known as a consensus wielder but more as a political creature who is averse and immune to consultative decision making process. To me NDA 3.0 looks tall on paper but in practice it may not last for quite long as it’s days are numbered

Why I am talking about it?
