Learning From Past

Tejashwi Prasad Yadav is firmly holding onto the RJD alliance in Bihar by strategically campaigning and canvassing support for INDIA bloc. Tapping into Mukesh Sahani’s VIP and tightening his base amongst the other significant chunk of OBCs apart from its traditional Y and M combination certainly seems to give RJD a crucial edge as he has learnt a lot from the previous election where his party drew a blank as Congress won the sole Kishanganj seat. Tired with Nitish ‘s politics of flip flops state’s electorate has already made up its mind as Bhartiya Janta Party can benefit in the state at the expanse of Nitish Kumar broadening and expanding its reach with backwards, most backwards and economically backward section rallying behind BJP. Secondly, the tie up with LJP and other smaller constituents is consolidating gains in BJPs favour as Nitish might continue to explore for further political alternatives and options after this parliamentary elections as there is a cap to pressure and tactic politics. He may have a swift change of opinion as Nitish is a leader who ably and quickly can read the text and context refusing to delay a moment and second in shifting the gears. Still, as a chief minister he remains popular but there has been a significantly dip and decline in the levels of craze which earlier used to exist for him. No doubt his various welfare schemes for women and other excluded and marginalized sections of society have been a total gamechanger but over the period of time he has been unable to hold onto his forte from misgovernance to mishandling of important government projects it would have been better had Nitish had passed on the baton but on the contrary having a lot of fuel left in him he is bidding his time yet to take a call on his political innings which has been illustrious, glorious, path breaking and trend setting in many aspects.
