Life during my college years held a charm that seems elusive now. Back then, my aspirations revolved around securing a fulfilling job, earning my own income, and embarking on monthly adventures. However, now that I’ve attained a level of financial independence, I find myself less content than I was a year ago. The once-exciting prospects of fieldwork, internships, seminars, workshops, and dissertation writing now seem like simpler times. The challenge of being away from family weighs heavily, as it feels like sacrificing precious moments once shared with loved ones. Currently, I can’t help but envy the apparent contentment of rural life compared to the hustle and bustle of urban living. Consequently, I’m inclined to believe that being a perpetual learner as a student brings greater satisfaction than being employed by an organization. This reflection encapsulates my current state of mind.
