Political ads by the government a few months before parliamentary elections sounds more a publicity stunt than an instrument for informing and awaring public opinion. Presently, wraponized as a mass instrument for swinging majority voters to its size by showcasing the opposition in a poor light challenging popular will of present day dispensation.
Modi’s guarantee appears more an endorsement of public sentiments and opinion in his favour deflecting the attention of ordinary electorate from the larger matters at stake from unemployment to inflation not bothering the scores of people as for the rhetoric of muscular nationalism and strongman narrative convincing the masses for a substitute of democracy repressing the majority from freely espousing and expressing their ideas of belief and faith.
In hierarchical societies right has been successful in getting away with dubbing and casting it’s cynicism over the society being truly egalitarian and liberal in the true sense misinterpreting the valid, fundamental and genuine grievances of vast majority of Hindus at first place?
Secondly, for the liberal overdose to minority appeasement and agenda of left to centre socialist and liberal parties has made the hard and rigid right parties publicly displaying symbols and signs of emotive power politics – temple and teerth yatras as powerful token of polarization and consolidation of Hindu voters.
Ram Temple potentially being the powerful force to galvanize and mobilize the huge populace- right has gone out well ahead in its vision and mission of decolonizing our mindset inching it closer towards spiritual rejuvenation and reformation terms missing from the thesaurus of so called secular parties reluctant to connect the dots for building their case matter.
Instead relying on the other aspects like education, livelihood and healthcare which are essentially important for an individual but than their are other avenues and outlets where i understand BJP and RSS has an edge. From Hindu sing castes and politicizing religion they have already made a pitch for an able affirmative action unlike the traditional reservation thread for secluded, oppressed and marginalized. Modi knows how to plead and put forth his findings and observations with a tab on how people think what they think thus shifting and switching gears.
A thorough populist he is familiar with the tone and temperament of the people over here with India being more a religious society you need to pick up on terminologies for establishing your credentials the way Modi seems to be responding to his plot. A lot of takeaways lies too for opposition to take forward the momentum despite rulings by judiciary on executive over reach Modi appears to be on the driver’s seat neutralizing rhe content of anything that goes against himself.
For instance Krishna and Sudama remark targeted against Supreme Court over electoral bond verdict putting BJP at the centre and for misconduct of BJPs presiding officer Anil Masih in Chandigarh mayoral elections found involved in rigging has had no effect on Modi’s cult as he got a free pass with media acting at his behalf.
I am not entirely pinning the blame on opposition for it but than will have to devise constructive means and methods for swinging the tide later than sooner as for the institutionalized power politics which is but pushing democracy to a brink of chaos and confrontation between different groups and sub groups for more equitable and accessible resources.
Who knows if the people become the real opposition than for established political parties fending for themselves failing at every attempt to overcome their flaws and gaps. This too shall pass of for their firm resolution nothing less and nothing more as simple and straight as that !!!!
