AAP Gives Congress Only 1 Seat In Delhi For Lok Sabha Elections

AAPs recent announcement of giving only one seat to Congress in Delhi out of seven for the parliamentary elections while contesting on its own in Punjab has set a wrong precedent for INDIA alliance. After West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, Congress is finding itself on a sticky wicket with both TMC and SP weighing their alternatives and options.

However, in national capital Congress has a better electoral strike rate than AAP as in 2019, grand old party came second on five seats with twenty three vote percent vote share and AAP stood at eighteen percent second on two seats.

Had they negotiated for an alliance with AAP in 2019 than they definitely could have found itself in a commanding gear refusing to come off their cocoon is what costed them. AAP shouldn’t be completely unfair to Congress as the grand old party stood solidly behind Arvind Kejriwal in the forty nine day government he ran in Delhi as no party got a clear majority. AAP should introspect rather than indulging in blame game shooting from the dark.

Contesting separately  will consolidate BJPs gains with both AAP and Congress biting rhe dust. Already, Kejriwal has been skipping ED summons on a routine basis who knows about his successor but bouncing back is a task that is fraught with lot many hiccups and hurdles. For now it’s coalition dharma which has to be revived and resurrected against a total control and domination of one singular party on the overall polity and society that will be somewhat hard to trade and tackle
