“My Travel Experience With MakeMyTrip And OYO Was A Nightmare”

MakeMyTrip (Deep Kalra) and OYO (Ritesh Agarwal), two names that used to evoke trust and convenience in travel arrangements, turned into a nightmare for me on a recent trip. I booked a hotel through MakeMyTrip for my stay, relying on their reputation for seamless bookings and reliable accommodations. Little did I know that this would turn into one of the worst travel experiences of my life.

Arriving at the hotel around 11 PM after a long journey, I was met with utter disbelief when the owner informed me that they had rejected my booking. Shocked and confused, I showed them my reservation confirmation from MakeMyTrip, but to no avail. They simply shrugged, stating that they hadn’t received any notification of my booking and that they were fully booked for the night.

Frantically, I tried reaching out to MakeMyTrip’s customer service for assistance, but to my dismay, I was put on hold for an excruciatingly long time. When I finally managed to connect with a representative, they were unable to provide any immediate solution or even an explanation for the booking mishap. Despite my insistence and pleas for help, they seemed indifferent to my predicament.

Left stranded in an unfamiliar city late at night, my frustration escalated as I realized that I had nowhere to stay. It was only through the extraordinary kindness and support of my cab driver that I was able to find alternative accommodation for the night.

This ordeal not only soured my perception of MakeMyTrip but also left me disillusioned with OYO hotels. The lack of communication between the booking platform and the hotel, coupled with the apathetic response from customer service, highlighted glaring flaws in their system. As a result, I’ve vowed never to use MakeMyTrip again for any future travel arrangements and would strongly caution others against relying on OYO hotels for their accommodations.

Travelers beware: what should have been a simple booking turned into a nightmare, and the companies that were supposed to ensure a smooth experience failed miserably in their duty.
