Charisma And Memes: Modi’s Path To The Third Term

Over half of India’s population is still under 30 and the BJP aims to secure their votes wrinkle-free (pun intended) with a strategy that only millennials and Gen Z would appeal to. The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi has been making undeniable strides in the progress of India’s diplomatic relations under his 10-year reign. The word ‘reign’ is attributed to the effect the 14th PM has had on Bharat’s citizens and global leaders, which can be compared with that of a celebrated monarch.

Multimedia of Modi laughing, holding hands, and hugging world leaders like Emanuel Macron, Joe Biden, and even Donald Trump during his infamous U.S. presidency have been stuck in the internet’s foreign policy scrapbooks with super-super glue. Over the last 5 years or so, Indian citizens have become significantly more interested in foreign policy and international affairs.

One of many reasons could be the minister of external affairs himself, DR. S. Jaishankar, has marked his influential territory as a political icon with his firm and savvy answers and charisma which can be compared to that of Modi. Perhaps the PM of India himself can be attributed to Neitzen’s keen interest in IR.

The Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Modi’s diplomatic relationship was conceivably more than mere diplomatic relation. #Melodi was a trending phenomenon among Indian netizens, with relations between Italy and India strengthened than ever before (the united nation’s very own international big fat Indian wedding), along with the spontaneous ticket to BJP gaining the youth’s votes for the upcoming national elections.

In fact- Bharatiya Janta Party’s social media page ‘bjp4india’ has also been flooded with views, with the BJP’s ‘trolling’ content against ardent opposition like the Congress Party, leaving netizens astonished, accumulating their likes, shares, and probably their targetted votes; giving netizens an online glimpse of what the live parliament is like. Electoral campaign and strategy has peaked in 2024, with parties ‘memeing’ their way through the competition to win those seats. After all, it is the biggest election year in history- with millennials and Gen-Z as 50% of the voters.
