The film directed and produced by Vidhu Vinod Sharma based on Anurag Pathak book contains the reality of lower middle class’ struggles and glorifies the post of IAS, IPS, as a success after defeating a vast number of aspirants to get enormous power.
Every Indian youth once dreams in their lifetime about clearing this exam and getting that success.
So, what’s the problem with it??
Today, when I finished this movie, I was not much happy because Manoj was successful at the end and had a happy ending, but I was stucked in the character of Gauri Bhaiya like him number of students get failure in the country after struggling for so many years.
The reality of UPSC in the movie is actually hidden in the role of Gauri Bhaiya, not Manoj, because Gauri Bhaiya is the actual character who is our youth nowadays.
Selection of BA pass vs. IITian?
Well, This is the topic of how many BA passers and IITians get selection every year? We don’t need to go deep, but if you see the pattern of the CSAT exam, you can easily guess for whom it is designed. It is designed so that it can be suitable for the brilliant minds of IITians, and the rest of the students who have average minds get themselves stucked for so many years in the name of hard work.
I often wonder:Is it really so important for the brilliant minds of IITians to do jobs as DMs for serving people or create such firms so that they can employ the majority of people to eliminate unemployment of this country?
What is wrong with the statement of the Gauri Bhaiya character?
He says in the movie to motivate Manoj:
Ek ka jeet hoga na karodon bhed-bakariyon ki jeet hogi” (If one wins, its worth will be equal to a million of sheeps and goats).
The reality is that if a candidate like Manoj wins, millions of candidates will be motivated for only some hundred seats, and the rest of them certainly will face failure because the UPSC is helpless in her scope to fulfill everyone’s emotions and dreams.
What will the remaining candidates do?They would think they were unable or have a guilt of failure that can’t be taken away from them. What will be of their abilities and creativity, which were hidden by God in them?
Why must we motivate children to be creative rather than becoming IAS officers?
We raise children, and we teach them about everything. We must prevent them from joining the crowd where everyone is going, but we must force them to search for themselves what they want to be and it must be genuine. We must teach children to help people not only by giving something but also by creating an opportunity for them to grow when they will be able to do so in the future using their creativity.
We must tell them that everyone is a hero if one uses and recognizes their potential, but if they limit themselves, they will be limited.
What we must learn:
I would say you should not motivate yourself in a false environment in which you don’t belong but do your work what you like, which is your own ability, and you must remember one of the quotes of Albert Einstein:
Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
-Albert Einstein
