Language Diversity Not Only Denotes Terrain But Social Pride

Former chief minister of Bihar, Jitan Ram Manjhi sharing a post on X hinted that the political games have begun in Bihar. He said “Khela Hobe” in Bangla, “Khela Hokto” in Magahi and “Khela Hokhi” in Bhojpuri.

If we closely read the terms we find frankly does not hint at a transition in the Bihar govt despite some sort of disturbance among the parties. This very diversity exists just because of somewhat geographical or more so social order or territorial reasons. This noticeable fact could impel us to think about how the local tongues differed after a few distances.

Three terms in distinct tongues appear quite interesting. How does the tongue shift from Bengal to Bihar to eastern Uttar Pradesh? All happen to link with the borders of one another.

According to the Census of India of 2001, our country has as many as 122 major languages and 1599 other languages.

Has the time come for us to acquire basic knowledge about who we are as a society, and for techniques to build a better, more convenient understanding towards required inclusiveness?  One won’t be amazed to comprehend that these endless mundane languages prioritise comparatively the well-being of humans all around as the first and foremost speciality.
