Ankita Sahoo her profession is journalism, but passion is social service. She has accepted social service as her life vow. In today’s society many women feels hesitate to talk about menstrual cramps openly but she calls women to buy sanitary napkin for uses. She feels real problems of many ladies. She is known as a Pad woman of Odisha. Not only that. as a journalist she tries to bring people’s problems to the public through media and also tries to help people being a social worker. She has created a special identity in the society for being involved in the happiness of others and stand with people by helping them. She is none other than, she is Ankita Sahoo from Dadhisinga village of Kabera panchayat, Gondia block of Dhenkanal District.
In which age youth dream about colorful life, Ankita has creates special identity through engaging in social work. As a journalist Ankita was determined to reach out to the people and as a social worker. She helps to the suffering of neglected and helpless in the society. She was also finding ways to solve the problems around her. She has got self-satisfaction, motivation and inspiration to keep going from her work. She provides many essential items to needy people in different areas and organizes many programs to educate women on menstrual hygiene. Not now, but since Almost 13 years she has been creating awareness among women and distributed more than 65.000 sanitary napkins from her own income. Even during the flood situation in Odisha she reached to the needy by boat and distributed napkin pad in affected area. She arrange workshop in school level to make awareness program on women’s hygiene.
Really Ankita has become a friend of the helpless and the poor. During covid-19 pandemic, she stepped out of her house to help others and became a front line warrior. Along with this she distributed free smartphones to the underprivileged and needy students’. Not only this but also at the administrative level to help people and to claim the right to solve every problem she has created a twitter club. Through this club Ankita is able to take people’s problems to the administrative level very easily. In future she has a dream to work in women empowerment.
