Indian Education System: The Factory Of Educated Illiterates

India has one of the largest demographic dividends in the world and this human resources is the most valuable asset of india but if we can’t exploit their full potential then after the course of time it becomes our biggest liability.

Therefore, many experts suggest that it is the need of the time , if India is not able to utilize the potential of this huge population by providing them employment then it will become a headache for the country.

The all India educational survey conducted by Pratham foundation

The survey found that 42% of rural students in the age group of 14 -18 can’t read the English sentence of class 2nd .

More than 50 percent of students faces problems in solving basic maths.

India produces 15 lakh engineers every but 80 percent of them doesn’t have necessary skills by which they can get a job.

According to a 2017 ASSOCHAM study,  93%  of MBA graduates  are not able get job.

Only 27percent of youth are considered digitally skilled.

Over 84 percent of youth didn’t get any vocational or technical training while 85 percent of schools in India did not implement any vocational program in their curriculum.

But the new education policy by government aims for transforming the current education system. It used to add technological innovation , vocational training to skill up the students.

But there are some arguments which suggest that increasing the study in regional languages in the government schools by NEP used to increase the number of students who are uncomfortable in communication.

Last, I just want to say that there are many modifications we need to implement in NEP to make it an ideal education system which used to counter the current needs of students.
