Finding The Inner Gandhi In “Being Gandhi” – A Book Review

Being Gandhi” inked by Paro Anand, is a children’s book. It inspires children and readers to see through their inner Gandhi. From the character Chandrashekhar, a thirteen-year-old student who had the assignment of “Being Gandhi” for a week, it prolongs and starts to irritate him to follow. While there, the situation became topsy-turvy around him, and his whole family and locality became the victims of the commotion and bloodshed (mostly the families of Sikhs). This was caused by the assassination of Indira Gandhi by her bodyguards.

People were supposed to be safe only behind their closed doors. Chandra thought, If Gandhiji was in the scenario, what could he do?. Chandra, by embracing his fear and doing a brave deed, protested with more peace and non-violence than Gandhiji did against the Britishers. And likewise, it got attention and also inspired others to see a young Gandhiji in the ambition of Chandra. With little effort, he shook the world. Paro Anand’s stories create charm for readers and inspire them.
