Fighter was said to be a solid action packed film but turned out to be an impactful hardcore emotional film. Emotions and sentiments are the strong points. However the promise of providing something never seen before isn’t fully kept.
Hrithik Roshan does whatever he always does, to overcome his previous performance. Yet another solid act by him. He suits the character and Carries it very well. Special appreciation for Anil Kapoor. he has equal amount of screentime as Hrithik and also shines equally as Hrithik. Deepika and the rest of the cast are also good in their parts. Special mention for the villain Rishabh. He has carried the legacy of cool Sid Anand Villains forward only. Played his role with complete justice.
The Screenplay of this venture is impressive. There wasn’t as solid emotional film as Fighter recently. VFX is neat and clean. Song placement is perfect and doesn’t interrupt the screenplay unnecessarily. Action is good. A bit over the top at some points but that doesn’t harm it.
One of the weak points of the film is the character or the funny arc given to karan Singh Grover. comedy does not suits him. He wasn’t good at all while cracking the unfunny jokes. Though, his overall performance was also average. should’ve been a lot better.
The aerial action parts are very less. This was a good experience but doesn’t justify the hype and marketing. Also, Hrithik Roshan’s character wasn’t fully utilized. The character writing for Shamsher Pathania was just good but not great.
Overall, Fighter is great as a cinema experience. Climax is the biggest highlight of the film. Yet another solid product by Siddharth Anand. No nonsense drama. keeps you hooked. worth the time. Good, not the best.
