“True education” is that which draws out and stimulates the spiritual, intellectual and physical faculties of children”-Gandhiji.
What the world needs is that man creates ideas and ideas shall create prosperity. Education is way more than just studying and giving an exam. But in India you can’t just let education be intellectual. In India education is just studying and giving an exam, well as of now for the whole world it is just studying and giving an exam. For you to truly understand what I am saying, you need to know about two types of geniuses from many types of geniuses, one is the academic genius and the other is the emotional genius.
You may be good in academics but remember the students who made everyone laugh and truly lit up the class those are the emotional geniuses. What I am saying is that the geniuses other than the academic brainboxes are grinded to mesh during their schooling years especially in boards. I am not saying that children should not be taught about how the world has progressed academically but what I am saying is that children should be taught in other ways that suits all the other geniuses as well. From my personal experience as a student in tenth what I hear from my relatives is just about boards.
“Oh! will you be studying or having fun during the holidays, obviously you have boards so you will be studying” or your parents telling you that 5 hours of free time in the 16 hours we are awake is way too much as you have boards haunts us as it is what we hear most of the time, like come on what is the hype about all of these boards. So, if there were no board exams, we can expect a lot of good things that can happen to us.
First of all, there would be chances of self-improvement during the years that we have our board exams. From my own experiences class tenth students in my school have missed a lot of opportunities like exchange programs to foreign countries just because the board exams are of upmost priority to us and we can’t risk getting less marks in it. If there were no board exams, we could encourage students to participate in self-improvement activities and this would affect the overall development of students in India in a positive way.
