JDU chief and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is having a tough time with his aide and strongman Lalan Singh hinting at the possibility of sacking him as National President, JDU. Lalan,s growing ties with RJD supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav has not been received quite well by Nitish babu who is reportedly seem to be miffed off maintaining a stoic silence on his next course of action.
Though a section within JDU is citing it as a rumour but there are others too refusing a clear stand with JD(U) national parliamentary and national council meeting scheduled for 29th December there is high probability that Lalan might be asked to step down with Nitish babu already making his intent clear.
After RCP Singh,s departure from JD(U) Nitish Kumar has become sceptical and cynical of those challenging his authority and agency within the party cracking the whip on those rupturing the electoral calculations and political arithmetic of JD(U).
Nitish,s grip on the party seems to be waning with the graph of his popularity declining he is making every attempt to buckle the trend with both RJD and BJP wanting to exploit the proceeds. Nitish babu appears to be playing safe at the moment expressing his confidence and faith in the leadership of Tejashwi Prasad Yadav who seemed to have politically picked up by cultivating and weaving his ties with BJP at the centre.
Acknowledging the frictions and fractions deep within the rank and cadre of JD(U), Nitish has become clueless and listless containing the brewing discontent which has been there for a while. Either he completely overhauls the party structure or risk loosing the party getting pushed to the brink, Nitish babu will and should have to take a call at the earliest by being tactical and strategical in his persuasions and posturings nothing else is going to compensate
