Electoral verdict to five state assembly elections has cemented the position of Bhartiya Janta Party as a central axis of Indian politics. From macro management to micro management, BJP stands as a distinctive player with a zeal and enthusiasm to lead, compete and dominate the scene for a cadre that is throughout deeply involved, committed and motivated to the ideology at large. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh were a litmus test for Modi ahead of run up to parliamentary elections in 2024 where he did show his weight outsmarting his rivals by being tough in the death overs.
Congress did showed a spirited fight but for a Kamalnath in Madhya Pradesh and Gehlot in Rajasthan proving to be inept in a finish that took a toll on the prospects of grand old party in both these states. Chattisgarh came as a shocker as Bhupesh Baghel deserved a fair audience but for the lack of it, Congress lost the momentum it had gained quite at the start. For Congress investing in organisation rather than ideology is the sureshot sign for its resurrection and to stay electorally and politically relevant.
Cashing on talent from National Students Union of India (NSUI) can transform it’s fate thus making it more commanding and formidable as a political force. Old guards like Digvijaya Singh, Kamalnath and Gehlot deserve key ranks and responsibilities in the party organisation for making the transition smoother for the grand old party remaining in the hunt. In Telangana, Congress made a smart move by roping in Revanth Reddy as a possible contender and claimant for top position.
Denying KCR Rao a third term in office, Congress has been exemplary with its scheme and a strategy which paid off well in the very last however i am not very convinced with the overall presentation by the party especially in the cow belt state where it almost had an edge. Victory in Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh could have given a major boost to Congress it needs to redraw and reasess it’s responses in alignment to the constituency it seeks to conduct and cater and not rushing for last minutes theatrics and heroics
Someone needs to have their ears to the grounded or else they will be grounded forever
