Are Menstrual Leaves For Lazy Women?

All women who complained about periods are lazy.

Exactly what I used to think a few years ago until I faced the WORST menstrual cramps.

You don’t understand it till you go through it, right?

Before I joined college, I used to wonder why do menstruators complain SO much about periods? Forget other people, my own sister and mother would talk about stomach ache.

As much as I would have liked to believe them, I always thought it was the best way to get out of work.

Until I went through the same myself. I never had menstrual cramps till I was 18. And then one find day, I’m sitting giving an exam in college with cramps so bad that I had to leave and rush home (without picking up my stuff).

And I’ve had extremely severe cramps since then. I’m not complaining (maybe I am) but all I’m saying is true feminism is not hiding your pain.

Demanding for menstrual leaves should not make you a disadvantaged group for hiring. How can I say no vagina no opinion when our own female ministers are pushing down women?

Just because women can do things during periods and hide their pain, doesn’t mean they HAVE to. Laws and policies can’t be made on the basis of who will misuse them, they have to be made keeping the larger group in mind. The larger group of women who go through excruciating pain, not the extremely small group that may misuse this.

NORMALISING periods also means NORMALISING period pains, PMS, PCOD and all other things that come with it.

You are a true feminist when you fight for all.
