Youth Ki Awaaz and Oorvani Foundation are coming together with the YKA-Citizen Matters – Civic Journalism Training Programme (CJTP) 2024, with the theme: My MP and I.
The CJTP Programme aims to identify, train and support 20 citizen journalists from across India’s largest cities, dive deep into pressing issues of their region and develop their skills around storytelling, narrative building and campaigning to engender systemic change using digital media. From learning about India’s regional governance structures, understanding its policy mechanisms, and power-mapping their constituencies to finally learning about having a say in the parliament, these citizen journalists will emerge as community changemakers.
