Poem: “A Conversation”

Walking through the nightmares

I feel dead-alive

Searching for my lost exuberant self

I struggle to survive.

Crying behind a smile

I keep looking for an escape

While everyone’s dancing in dreams

I stay wide awake.

Dark clouds roll across my mind

The sea of tears has dried

Despite trying my best

I keep sinking into quagmire of dilemmas inside.

You were not fair enough

And you stabbed that trenchant knife

I question you today, you have to answer me,

Why me only life?

I know my child, you are struggling

But you’ll rise like a phoenix soon

The days are not far when you’ll proclaim

I’m over the moon.

These low phases are short-lived

Your pain will turn into power

You’ll endure the storm too-

For you’re the strongest flower.

The wounds, I promise, will heal for sure

And time will lower the kindled strife

You are my favorite and will remain so,

Replied life.
