AAP’s Sanjay Singh Arrested In Delhi Liquor Policy Case

Arrest of AAP RS MP, chief spokesperson and master strategist Sanjay Singh by ED in liquor gate scandal is an clear reflection of centre,s attempt to muzzle the opposition space gaining currency with the formation of INDIA alliance. Painting the opposition as corrupt, dynastic and incompatible from emerging as an credible alternative is all part of a ploy to not let opposition set it’s foot straight on the ground.

For Modi, a push to the rhetoric of infrastructural nationalism and welfarism for the poor and backward is but a political task conceived in the backdrop of training his guns on opposition on a turf where his monologues becomes a medium to connect with the emotions and sentiments of common and ordinary electorate especially in North India where his appeal has gained traction over the past few years with Hindutva becoming an electoral bogey behind BJPs pluses, gains and advantages in Hindi heartland.

In my opinion, Modi is trying to drive home this point with most of political pundits and psephologists predicting a tight one for BJP in assembly polls to Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh where the party is neck and neck with its main rival Congress. ED and CBI trigger is simply a means and medium by present dispensation to keep dissenting voices under check cracking a whip on those defying convention.

Coming few months can witness the most unthinkable and unpredictable kind of situations altering the contours and dynamics of Indian politics with power becoming deeply personified and centralized and institutions bearing the burnt for their neutrality and autonomy that lays already compromised. Sadly, figuring a way out will take its own course for an contemptuous executive sparing none
