TMC MP Mahua Moitra has been put to a public cum political trial after revelations by prominent Hiranandani group in a cash for query scam putting Ms Moitra in a spotlight. Charged for excessive questioning on the Adani matter, Moitra might have toed the line creating unease for the ruling dispensation. Her matter has been referred to the parliamentary ethics committee investigating the affidavit by Darshan Hiranandani detailing how he got access to Ms Moitra,s login credentials and the exchange of expensive returns with her. Burden of proof lies with BJP MP Nishikant Dubey for further substianting his claims. I am yet to convince myself if for any logic and truth behind this campaign to malign and tarnish Moitra,s image and character as a public functionary daring to demand accountability and transparency from a regime hell bent to paint it’s detractors as a band of opportunists, anarchists and dynasts with an aim to destabilize the unity and sovereignty of the country. But, can it always hide behind this veil pinning the blame for its lapses and failures on its predecessors trying a Nehru for their guilt. BJP being a party in power should aim to get over this agenda and propaganda machinery and act in a way in consonance with the letter and spirit of the established statues, procedures and conventions than for snowballing issues out of proportion. Modi ji it’s your moral duty and ethical obligation for your leaders and legislators maintaining standard and letting some sanity prevail. Atleast this much can be expected not hitting your critics and sceptics below the belt
