Is it possible to end communal violence?

Where is the end of sectarian violence in Bangladesh is a complex question that has no easy answers. There are many reasons for this violence, including religious fundamentalism, politically motivated provocations and economic inequality. Let us now remember the beginning of communal violence one by one.

Communal violence in Bangladesh began after the partition of the country in 1947, creating two separate states, India and Pakistan. This incident led to violence against minority Hindus and other religious groups in Bangladesh. Then it can be seen that during the great liberation war in 1971, hearing the name of Salta still makes many people cringe. During the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971, the Pakistani army and their allies carried out massive violence against Hindus and other minority communities. Subsequently, in 1992, sectarian violence erupted in Bangladesh in response to the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, India. On 6 December 2001, after the Bangladesh National Assembly elections, clashes between opposing political parties led to sectarian violence. On 31 March 2012, in Fatehpur village of Kaliganj Upazila in Satkhira District. On 28 February 2013, attacks on the minority Hindu community took place. The International Criminal Tribunal sentenced Jamaat-e-Islami Vice-President Delawar Hossain Sayeedi to death for war crimes committed during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. Following this sentence, activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student organization Islami Chhatra Shibir launched attacks on Hindus in various parts of the country. On 13 October 2021, communal violence broke out at a pujamandap in Comilla town’s Nanua Dighi district over alleged desecration of the Quran. At least 10 people were killed and hundreds injured across the country in this violence. Finally, sectarian violence was a significant problem in Bangladesh in 2022. At least 10 people were killed and hundreds injured in the violence. On June 2, 2022, A protest took place at Dighlia market in Lohagara upazila of Narail against the presence of the police in a mourning meeting for the victims of a train fire in Chittagong’s Sitakunda upazila. Amidst these protests, a person named Akash Saha’s house and shop were vandalized and set on fire, allegedly on a Facebook post. Violence started in the area in protest of this incident. Considering this violence here, it can be understood that the Hindu community is being targeted again and again on purpose, but why?

This parikrama was the incident of sectarian communal violence in Bangladesh from 1947 to 2022. During this violence, the government of Bangladesh worked in different ways at different times but never thought that what is the root cause of this violence and what can be the remedy? .I can understand some reasons to end communal violence in Bangladesh such as eliminating religious bigotry, promoting religious tolerance and understanding. Measures should be taken against politically motivated provocations and economic inequality should be reduced. If these measures are implemented, it will be possible to end communal violence in Bangladesh. Otherwise, my personal opinion is that communal violence in Bangladesh will not decrease but will increase day by day. To solve this problem, Government, religious leaders, And common people all have a role to play. The government should curb violence through law enforcement and work for communal harmony. Religious leaders must promote tolerance and understanding among their followers and common people must work for communal harmony and stand against violence. Ending communal violence in Bangladesh is a long-term goal. However, to achieve this goal, work must be started now so that no problems are faced later, as we may say in the words of the rebel poet. That is a long-term goal. However, to achieve this goal, work must be started now so that no problems are faced later, as we may say in the words of the rebel poet. That is a long-term goal.
