Fuming Bride’s Side Ends Marriage On Dowry Demand, But Obliges Later

This is a factual story on the situation of social evil called the dowry. This is openly something everyone knows all too well. One might not reject that that was not unusual in our traditional society. It could probably be all about caring enough without caring too much. It is neither poise nor classic nor elegantly conducted rite.

There was a dispute between the bride’s and groom’s sides regarding the demand for a car at the wedding in a remote village. The angry bride’s side had reportedly tied up six people including the groom and his father.

Later, the Panchayat agreed not to marry the girl to the groom after deliberations for a lengthy five hours. It was decided with all the equanimity that the daughter would not be married to the dowry hunters. Hence, the groom’s side returned the goods and money given in the name of dowry.

Still, this was surely not a question of an exaggerated tradition. We have undoubtedly been experiencing this sort of indecency continuously in our society. There has been a steady rise in the number of dire dowry disputes. There seems to be no respite in the menace of dowry.

But to our surprise on the next morning, a panchayat of villagers and people from the girl’s side was held. The girl’s uncle agreed to marry his daughter to the same groom. The girl was reportedly married to the man.

The girl’s father gifted a car to his daughter. Even the villagers received the guests warmly. And running away from solving the problem will never be perfect for this trend because we need to bring people together with shared attitudes. So it makes no sense to mention tossing decisions on social ills and aesthetics solely.
