Railways food is a derogatory remark to people’s health in India. After entering the Shatabdi express at four-fifty PM from Amritsar on 20th September 2023 to Delhi, I was offered a plate of Maida and sweetened mayonnaise and shredded vegetable Sandwich.
Then there was a Sammosa, filled with potato(for those who don’t know Samosa, it’s an Indian delicacy made of Maide-refined flour and potatoes mixed with spices-a fast food), mixed Murmuras(that too refined fat and spices, high in calories, that too sodium) with then there was Tea(caffeine item) with condensed sweetene milk powder and a Laddo made of Sugar, Fat and what not, this was the menu.
And then after 2 hour and forty minutes passing all they had in between was Diet Coke, Coke, Coconut water(don’t know if sweetened or not), Chips(fried high sodium fast food), Sweetened canned Coffee and what not, all items for passengers going to a city, which has an alarming rate of diabetic and hypertensed people, a city which has dangerously lethal levels of air and water pollution. Where PM 2.5 levels are so high as to cause stroke.
This should be told to our railway minister who must be busy innaugrationg the new ‘Vande Bharat’
They cage you in a box, including diabetic and BP patients, keep you hungry, while presiding over you, treat you worse thanas Guinea Pigs for capitalists corporate Profits(Comapnies like Coke, Frito-lay etc). The company has become a capitalist playground, where legacy Indian companies are sold to these money lusty greedy capitalists class and then they make huge profits when the buy hits the equity market.
All at th expense of our health, the common people’s health, and when demanded for better Healthcare services all is told is they have nothing to offer, a country crammed into government hospitals, money being looted from them in the name of profits. Nobody is answerable because nobody is there, they are better protecting there public image, while we die and suffer. Hail the great leader, hail him.
