AIADMK decision to call off it’s alliance with BJP walking out of the NDA fold has left many wondering, guessing and speculating. AIADMK was one of the oldest allies of BJP after Akali Dal and Shivsena but with BJPs high handedness and indifference towards its allies has made many to re think and re strategise it’s position. Akalis and Shiv Sena were mindful of this quitting this pact way back over the last few years it has increasingly become exhausting and complex to engage with the leadership architecture of BJP gradually turning bureaucratic far removed from the reality at the ground.
For career politicians bowing to the command and orders of the high command has to be religiously obeyed without any ifs and buts. Increasing Congressization of BJP (high command attributes ) has left it’s made its allies jittery in the light of Maharashtra fiasco with the saffron party throwing all its weight engineering split in prominent regional parties of the state- Shivsena and NCP further weakening it to a point of no return for a plot promising it huge electoral dividends and advantages.
It’s unlikely BJP would want to reverse this trend when it is the sole beneficiary of this scheme. However, this isn’t going to tread long with the saffron party left in the lurch. It’s chances in 2024 may start dimming and thicking if such is the case and scenario already it’s on a sticky wicket in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh where assembly elections are due in a couple of months.
Either, BJP should take a cue of it if or else perish for off the cuff remarks, one liners and provocations directed against the tall list of leaders be it in their coalition or those in the opposition. AIADMK episode sheds light on the increasing proximity of parties like TDP, BRS, YSR for a prospective tie up in the run up to the general elections.
Resurfacing of cracks in NDA should make the head of these parties to investigate and introspect their line of thought restraining from committing an act of misjudgement to which repentance and remorse is likely going to work. Electorate is not only smart but far intelligent than an ordinary leader making all arithmetic and calculations turn upside down.
Indian Democracy is packed with such kind of glances and glimpses which are sometimes both rare and geniune or an interesting mix of both buzzing with a lot of overtones and undertones
