Complicated Life Of Young People That No One Understands

Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher produced the online series Never Have I Ever. It has four seasons, each of which includes ten episodes. The first season was released in 2020, and the last season was released in 2023. Each season was one of Netflix’s top ten series. I believe the biggest reason for the show’s appeal is that it depicts the different challenges that young people experience that society does not even recognize as a problem. The show presents many people from various origins dealing with various difficulties. According to my opinion, every young person, namely teens, may relate to the show.

The Netflix series is excellently directed since, it displays how painful is it to be young, where your parents pressure you to succeed, social media pressures to hate your body and etc. Not just the main character, but each and every character in the program teaches different methods to cope with difficulties and combat them fearlessly.

People believe that problems with schoolwork are the only concerns that young people confront, but this is a falsehood. However, the aforementioned series addresses the majority of the issues that young people encounter. It demonstrates how the death of a loved one who is extremely near to your heart may cause trauma and lead to major health problems. In the episode, for example, when Devi’s father died, she became paraplegic. To get out of the predicament, she went to counseling. However, many people in India and other nations believe that therapies are solely for mentally ill individuals, which is not the case. This presentation also demonstrated how Devi’s ongoing therapy assisted her in healing from her prior trauma and dealing with her anger issues and made her a better person.

The show also illustrates how the people around us have a stronger influence on us. Devi wants a lover after seeing her friends with boyfriends, but she doesn’t know what getting into a relationship entails. But when no male approaches her, she feels horrible and believes she is not attractive enough for a boy to like her, so she approaches a boy in the incorrect way. All of these things may be avoided in the lives of young people if everyone around them, including parents, teachers, and other seniors, has an open dialogue about such issues.

Not only does the show handle the concerns of the main character, but it also addresses the problems of the other characters. For example, Fabiola, a young woman, discovers that she is gay and is unsure whether her family and friends would accept her. When she confessed one day, her family and friends embraced her and made no fuss. As a result, it encourages society to accept individuals as they are and not try to alter them. Another boy named Ben aspires to attend Columbia University since it was his father’s desire, and in order to do so, he works very hard, even skipping meals on occasion as both of his parents’ work, they didn’t pay much attention to him, and one day he developed severe stomach pain and was sent to the hospital. As a result, regardless of how busy parents are, they must watch after their children and be aware of what is going on in their life.

Other characters, such as Eleanor, was completely dejected and gave up her ambition of being an actress after her mother abandoned her for her acting career, but when her friends, father, and stepmother assisted her, she began to pursue acting as a career again. But when she is rejected from her dream acting school for admittance, her hopes are crushed, but she does not give up hope and chooses another road to success in life. This reminds us that when nothing goes right, we should turn left. Character Paxton reminds us that even after getting into our ideal universities, we may not be content and feel the want to abandon everything, as he did and pursued his passion while being happy. Everyone’s ultimate goal is to be happy, thus it’s preferable to pursue our passions than to follow the path established by others. Another character, Aneesa, has an eating disorder. When the news spreads and everyone is aware of the situation, she becomes scared and upset, and she wishes to move schools. But, after her friends apologized and urged her to stay at the same school, she did not quit and went on to play several games for her school, winning trophies.

The best thing about the web series is that it focuses on people of all ages, rather than just young people. For instance, the character Kamala is a talented woman, and her family has found a good match for her to get married. She also agrees to them, but later discovers that the boy isn’t a good match for her because they have very different thinking processes. Instead, she wanted to marry another boy who is a school teacher, but her family didn’t support her. But after several significant events, her family eventually realized that the boy she selected was the finest choice for her. It also successfully reflects the numerous issues that a single mother experiences while raising her children, as well as the various societal pressures that she endures. This show also normalizes the fact that marriage has no age restrictions. Devi’s grandma discovered love in her old age and wanted to marry, and her family enthusiastically supported her, which I believe everyone should do.

This web series is distinct from other shows and movies as it highlights many obstacles that young people and elderly encounter and how they deal with them. The best thing is that everyone conquered their difficulties and attained their intended goals and objectives. It encourages and teaches today’s youth to think differently, as well as elders and parents on how to interact with and teach these young people. I believe it will inspire many young people to fight each difficulty courageously and achieve the summit of success.
