Due to Covid pandemic there was a huge impact on children education and learning . Although the online study was going on but i didn’t found it so impactful. Children have no access to Schools, books and friends too. All were just inside the boundary of their houses.
So to spread reading culture and to make community connection among the children the idea of community library was initiated. Community library was one such initiative in which children from different section of society used to come and sit together at a definite place to study books, play games, for doing craft activity and many extra co-curricular activity on daily basis. Initially i single handedly with 4 kids started working on the field.
I was companied by three more team members. We started doing dialoguing within our team and by doing so the result which used to came became more powerful and impactful. We marched several rallies, manufacture posters, songs, quotes, to explicit our idea of community library to larger audience.
I also started making vlogs on youtube to reach to more audience with our idea of community library. In between there were lot of challenges and failures which makes me more wilder and stronger. Within a time interval of 8 month our library movement has been circulated all over the city and nearby schools.
Within a week 17 more community libraries were opened in different-different villages of our city. These libraries were now being known as mobile community libraries. This result in a great success of our initiative. This caravan of community library is still going on …..
Over and above with the time this learning space of community library helped me a lot to learn the teaching pedagogy, team work, design and performing arts like dancing and storytelling. In this journey i became more creative and innovative about my thoughts. Rather than just believing on rote learning i started learning things by doing them .
