Inspired By RM Lohia, Nitish Puts Hindi Name On School Board In Banka

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish visited a high school in Banka district. He got angry after seeing the written word “Digital Library” in English on the school’s board. He asked the DM why it was not written in Hindi. We are not living in the British era. He said, “At one time I decided to promote the use of Hindi. So I stopped signing in English.”

Most locals may not be refined. So they do like to see information in Hindi that could be understood without much trouble. This is because, much like everyone else who lives in a city does not appear to be entirely conversant with the foreign language. The idea behind writing digital library appeared to have bothered the CM instantly and he asked the District Magistrate if there was a need to write the name in Hindi.

It would have given him some unacceptable variety of uninterested connections with a much-used foreign language. However,  the word was not wholly endurable to Nitish Kumar, who advocates for Hindi because of his ideological resemblance to the late socialist stalwart Ram Manohar Lohia. This was surely not the first occasion he had publicly expressed his displeasure over the use of English.

Reportedly, he once berated an agricultural entrepreneur after he used several English words during his speech. Newly, he got angry after noticing words like ‘honourable’ and ‘speaking time’ on the electronic display board inside the State Legislative Council.
