Seat Sharing

Both AAP and Congress sound disillusioned and dismayed over the seat-sharing agreement in Delhi. Though, Congress with it’s bench strength is focusing to contest on all seven parliamentary seats in the national capital throwing all it’s weight behind with AAP too in the reckoning things might not as look simpler for the new entrants in the recently acronymed I.N.D.I.A alliance. As there electorate base is common it will be difficult for them if they come crashing against each other for statements made by learned spokesperson of Congress like Alka Lamba and Sandeep Dixit questioning their high command, s move in stitching and cobbling an understanding with AAP when they at the very best are bitter foes. Though, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had to depend on Congress, s support for running his forty nine days govt way back in 2013 twist came when Kejriwal mustered absolute majority in 2015 and 2020 getting sixty seven and sixty two seats respectively in the Delhi assembly. Congress in the absence of a political strategy and counter made sincere efforts to get to where it wanted. BJPs vote base and share is more or less intact with traditional business communities like Banias, Jains and Marwaris rallying behind it apart from intermediary castes like Gujjars and Jats who have been it’s most vocal supporters. Desisting from a tactical alliance in 2019 costed AAP and Congress dearly as in their traditional belt BJPs electoral performance and presentation was quite overwhelming. 1- 2 seats were not going anywhere but for their  reluctance and refusal. Either they should work a formula by getting back to their shoes or else safely hang their boots. Should be dealt maturely being naive and sheepish won’t do them any better as for the haze enveloping their ties. There litmus test seems to have begun
