Bhagwant Mann

Governors are becoming more than their weight in opposition ruled states especially for their posturing and stance troubling the parties other than BJP on there turf. Should, a governor be playing a second fiddle in a way meddling with the popular mandate by the party in power daring it’s authority and legitimacy on the pretext of imposing President rule in the state toeing the fine line of separation of powers and checks and balances.

Bhagwant Mann’s AAP government in Punjab is the latest entrant bearing the burnt of it with the Governor Banwarilal Purohit countering and questioning his track record on the front of drug menance and deteriorating law and order condition in the state.

Though, Mann has been categorical underlining the initiatives taken so far for not letting the situation blow out of proportion. But with the governor acting in a haste like a viceroy even the last resort for conducting the articulating and conducting the difference of views and opinions seems to be gradually shrinking and  rupturing the fabric and ethos of constructive co operative federalism mounting an assault on the ethos and ethics of Constitutional values and principles devoiding it of it’s sheen.

A sad commentary on the affairs of a state which is a step closer becoming Orwellian if not now than probably a little later.

Huh!
