Adani Enterprises is apparently considering exiting its $6 billion joint venture with Wilmar International, a Singapore-based agricultural behemoth, in a stunning move that has stunned the corporate world. The 2019 joint venture planned to leverage on India’s and other worldwide markets’ expanding demand for edible oils and food staples.

Adani’s collaboration with Wilmar, a Singapore-based agriculture corporation, began in 2019 with high aspirations. Adani Wilmar planned to integrate Adani’s extensive Indian distribution network with Wilmar’s global edible oil expertise. As a result of this strategic alignment, well-known brands such as Fortune cooking oil and Alife soybean oil were launched, and the company swiftly built a strong market position in India’s competitive edible oils category.
