Opposition Meet

Opposition meet in Bengaluru comprising twenty six parties was nothing but a thought provoking exercise deliberating, negotiating and formulating counter strategies to emerge as an viable alternative to Narendra Modi’s BJP.

In order to get till there they will have to mend there acts thoughtfully and skillfully without falling back to their ambitions of becoming the central axis of UPA 3. Otherwise there agenda and purpose of clubbing and flocking together will go in vain in the absence of an effective design and blueprint cashing on the discontent and disquiet of common and ordinary electorate- inflation and unemployment etc severely impacting those at the margins forced to fend for themselves.

Opposition should come off its sombre hitting the ground, touring constituencies, organizing public meet, mobilizing public support for their initiatives enhancing their visibility boosting their prospects. I understand it’s too early to predict anything at this juncture with the opposition exploring possible avenues and outlets to get to its act a little homework on stitching a formidable alliance backed by an arithmetic and chemistry will surely be in its favour.

Getting above their pretensions is the most vital thing as within it there are faces like Kejriwal, Mamta Banerjee etc who are not very comfortable and  open to somebody else taking their spot.

Rahul Gandhi getting into his shoes is not seasoned enough to lead UPA 3 as not many would acknowledge and appreciate so the need of hour will be to pass the baton to a one acceptable to the Gandhi’s astute, sharp and a key strategist taking everyone along on board- Nitish Kumar and Sharad Pawar were the front runners but there are others too in the race getting to a political menu taking away the all essential ingredients off Modi and Shah’s book.

Rejuvenating the spirits of opposition high with the veterans unhesitatingly expressing and boasting of their accomplishments though an upheaval task for opposition but if they commit to confront their claims and contradictions than 2024 would be more than a thriller a commentary on the destiny and direction of our constitution and democracy if it would at all be liberal, secular and plural.
