The Science And Spirituality Behind Lord Shiva

LORD SHIVA; SPIRITUALITY AND SCIENCE

Lord Shiva is one of the most important gods worshipped amongst Hindus just like others. When we think of Lord Shiva, we would also think of Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. Lord Brahma is a creator of the world, Lord Vishnu is a protector, and Lord Shiva is a destroyer.

Lord Shiva was married to Parvati, and they had three children. One daughter (Ashok Sundari) and two sons (Kartikeya and Ganesha). Kartikeya is known as the god of war and Lord Ganesh is the remover of obstacles. Lord Shiva is known by many names such as Viswanatha (lord of the universe), Mahadeva, Mahandeo, Mahasu, Mahesha, Maheshvara, Shankara, Shambhu, Rudra, Hara, Trilochana, Devendra (chief of the gods), Neelakanta, Subhankara, Trilokinatha (lord of the three realms), and Ghrneshwar (lord of compassion). He known as Supreme Truth resides in Mount Kailash. He sits on tiger’s skin, has so many cobras around his neck, and dreadlocks where Ganga falls from his head all the way to the side. He has Trishul with Damru tied on the neck, illustrating power, and has a sacred bull named “Nandi”. The most important appearance also involves the vertical third eye and is worshipped by the Shiv Lingam representing “Trimurti” (creator, protector, and destroyers).

The Connection Between Lord Shiva’s Snake & Vishuddhi Chakra

The whole idea of Lord Shiva having a snake around his neck is because the snake carries poison. Within the body, there are 114 chakras, and only 7 are really taken seriously. One that is mentioned is “Vishuddi” referring to “filter”. Devotees understand that poison can be consumed in many ways and it is important that “Vishuddi” plays a role genuine role where bad influence is avoided in always to keep a good character of yourself.

Scientific Logic Behind Lord Shiva’s Crescent

Lord Shiva has many names and one of the names is “Somasundra”, which has a direct connection with the moon. But the word “Soma” means intoxication. Scientists have researched and concluded the human body through Yoga always has the pleasure of staying internally drunk and alert. Many people consume Cannabis and it is advised not to consume it to the point where you DO NOT doze away.

The Truth Behind Trishul

Trishul shows three fundamentals “Ida, Pingala, Sushumna” indicating how life is. There are three basic rivers (left, right, and central). In total, there are 72000 rivers relating to three fundamentals. “Ida” and “Pingala” implies the existence of males and females and the qualities they should have to have a balanced world. “Sushumna” refers to human physiology and they adapt to external influence. Humans have a place in them that can never be disturbed. Also, it is believed that Trishul was the weapon used by Lord Shiva to kill Lord Ganesha (his son).

Shiva’s Drum Is More Than Just A Musical Instrument

Damru (Drum) is an instrument which indicates the universe that collapses and re-creates. It works like a graph going up and down. It shows rhythm and energy. Physics has a similar interpretation that the universe is nothing, but a rhythm and it is just a wave (Advaita). Damru (Drum) signifies the non-dual nature of the universe. Natural disasters and Human falling ill is an example of that.

Existence Of Shiva’s Bull (Nandi)

Nandi is an example of waiting patiently, as it is idolised within Indian culture as one of the important morals. Nandi always waited outside for Lord Shiva and this is the sort of behavior that needs to be shown when going to a Hindu temple. Nandi also has a quality where he was always alert and active, which every human should have as a good habit.

Lord Shiva’s Third Eye

“Triambaka” is another identity of Lord Shiva pointing out that another dimension of view has opened. Humans with two eyes see and understand how they see it. Yoga allows you to open your mind and think outside the box. Third eyes mean people think out of the box to make a correct judgment.

Shiva’s Lingam and Atomic Model

The above image shows Shiva Lingam. You can see the pillar has three marks and a Disc beneath it and a coiling Cobra. One of the scientists has concluded that Molecules (The smallest part of everything) is produced from Atoms containing Proton, Electron, and the all-important part of the composition of the Shiva Lingam. All three together produce Shiva Lingam. Every Monday, we do Shiv Pooja. When doing “Pooja” we applied water, milk, flowers, and raw rice on top of “Shiv Lingam”. The main reasons why devotees would do Pooja are for peace, prosperity, and well-being. Shiva Lingam is recognised as an atom model and radiation produced out of granite stone. You will understand the benefits if you do further research into granite stone. They have the power to protect themselves against high temperatures.

Vrat (Fasting):

On Maha Shivratri, devotees pray, chant, meditate and fast the whole night. Fasting is to boost your power and dedication towards prayer and removes you from doing negative things. It brings peace and awareness inside you. Gauri Vrat or Jaya Parvati vrat is 5 days fasting period observed by unmarried girls to be blessed, bring happiness, and good life partner in their life. Shravan Mass has a spiritual meaning the period where all religious ceremonies are carried out and is recognised as an auspicious month and Fasting is one of them. Adhik Mass is an extra lunar month added to the solar calendar every three years. The purpose of fasting may differ, but the outcome is always similar.
