Indeed, a qualified teacher always leaves a lasting impression on the minds of children. I have a small incident to share. I hope it will help inspire many to know the worth of a teacher in a student’s life. It was winter season and I was in first standard. I was appearing for my English exam paper and I was busy writing the paper. My class teacher was observing me and suddenly she asked me to sit on the floor. I who hardly used to sit on the floor during my childhood days found it awkward and thought it as a punishment. But the teacher was not ready to listen.
She thought that I was cheating on the exam paper. I tried to convince her but she was adamant. She immediately asked me to sit on the floor in the cold breezy winter season. I couldn’t convince her for more than 5 minutes and I sat on the freezing floor and wrote my paper. Now, the good part was that no one cheated on my paper and I also did not cheat on anyone else’s paper. I secure more than 90%. From that day, I learned the importance of learning and studying from anywhere.
What Did I Learn
The basic learning that I received from that incident was that even though I am treated well and nicely at my home, it doesn’t mean that I who is wearing the same uniform similar to 6o children sitting in a classroom is a VIP or important person. I should not differentiate myself as a social child because I am a child like others. This made me a grounded person. Till now, I try to sit on the floor so that I should not become egoistic about my luxuries of life. This means it’s good to sit on the sofas and beds, but at the same time it is better to know that by sitting on the floor, a person doesn’t become a less worthy.
