I recently completed watching Netflix’s “CLASS”. Though, I liked the plot as I am fond of mysteries, thrillers and suspense. But, to be honest I think the storyline emphasis could have been a bit different. I won’t be giving a summary of the series in this blog, the reason being that I might spoil the mystery for you and secondly, I want to discuss the missing and changes that should have been there in the plot. The character’s chemistry part is the soul of this article. I want you to read that part even if you’re not reading the entire article.
Let’s begin with the prominent family in the series “CLASS” that requires a good amount of screen time in the series, THE AHUJA’S! The story revolves around this family and the atrocities that the slum people had to face because of them. This family hold a strong position in the plot and has been depicted as very important, But I think that depiction gets diluted due to multiple stories. Though, Ain’t nothing like a story with multiple plots but only until it affects the main story. Multiple events are shown as the utmost important story in the series.
I think here it is when the story gets diluted and confusing for the audience to judge, whom is the main plot around. After a bit of research and reaching out to people on social media kind of like a survey, I came across such comments where people think that the story is a bit diluted and it was tough for them to decide the main character or the main set of characters in the series.
Now, can there be a positive aspect to this delusion? On second thought, I think the makers wanted to emphasise every character in the series. But I think the storyline was not sufficient or to be more specific, the story is not very much connected to each character. Some of you might disagree with me on this but, if you analyse the story you will find that a few of the characters that could have been game changers for the series and had the potential to be one of the main characters were ignored and were introduced just for the sake of being introduced and it somehow felt like they were introduced to stretch the story. Who were those characters now?
Dhruv & Faruq
Either be it the “CLASS” start cast interviews at any YouTube channel or be it the NETFLIX itself, their love story and chemistry are the elephant in the room. Everyone wants to talk about it, know about it and praise it. and trust me that I am not exaggerating it.
But, as per audience responses, Dhruv and Faruq deserved more screen time. I believe that the purest chemistry belongs to the couple in the entire series. Dhruv and Faruq have earned so much admiration and love from the audience that there can be an entire series based on the story of these two.
I won’t be unveiling the story here as it will spoil the fun for those who haven’t yet watched it. But, for a sneak-peak into the plot of their story, both of them have their own atrocities and complexities in life. If the plot revolves around their life it can easily be stretched to a 2 season show and the fans will love it.
Veer & Shaba
The character of Veer Ahuja will be confusing for most of you. Veer Ahuja is that one rich guy who can own everything he desires. He is raised in a prideful and ambitious environment. He seems to be obsessed with himself at times but gradually we get to see that his character is also sensitive to people out there.
Shaba Manzoor is just opposite Veer Ahuja. Shaba is a simple girl who obeys her family and is not into stuff like relationships and hookups. But, to the audience’s surprise, both of these opposite characters fall for each other.
The beauty of their love story is that they do the unexpected to be together. Like Veer tries to be sensitive and caring so that Shaba accepts him and Shaba being a disciplined girl who never disobeys her father, lies to her family several times to meet Veer.
Their story is also a depiction of how love has the power to change a person from the very core of his or her nature in a positive sense. This is what makes their love story unique in the plot.
Characters With Confusing Personalities (Sharan Gujral)
There are several characters who till the end of the series remain mysterious about their accurate character.
One of those characters is SHARAN GUJRAL(Moses Koul) This character seems to have a good going relationship with his girlfriend at the beginning of the series but, the twist comes in when his girlfriend gets to know about his secret desire.
Even till the end of the series, I could not guess that that desire actually existed or it was a planned conspiracy to achieve I don’t know what. trust me, I want to write so much about it but cannot spoil the fun.
