Train mishap at Odisha Balasore has drawn the ire of everyone alike especially for the scale and magnitude of the deceased and injured.

Shouldn’t the railway ministry focusing on the structural gaps and loopholes responsible at the very first instance for such tragic and devastating incidents claiming lives of common and ordinary who for no fault of theirs, bear the price?
PM Modi flagged and inaugurated end number of Vande Bharat trains with the Railway Minister completely missing from the scene taken off guard someone will have to own up the charge rather than cutting ribbons, getting clicked with sugar coated smiles pasted on their faces.
Seems that in the Modi era, accountability, credibility and transparency are but objects of the past paving the path for publicity and limelight over anything and everything. Wonder if there will be any stop to this practice of promotion and propagation of a rhetoric that is but a delusion.
Governance is a collective exercise to achieve specific goals, objectives and targets but for this dispensation it is less of team work and more of strategically managing political stunts for fulfilling electoral pursuits. Coming off this is an herculean one for an establishment feeding on fodder of perception and populism cheering its intended audience.
Well it’s high time now for Indian politics to transcend beyond the skin of strongman to put things in order and command holding back sounds completely hollow.
Something somewhere is ethically and morally not going right and we have to acknowledge and accept that as civilized and conscious beings.
