Odisha- The land of Culture and Purity has seen the most impure tragedy in the history of India!
The triple train accident in Balasore of Odisha- Around 300 people dead, over 1000 injured and still 100+ dead bodies remain unidentified. It has seen everything- a small India with its people from every sort and background, travelling together but to the destination of death and dismay.
Overturned coaches. horrific visuals, people without heads, hands and legs, bloodshed everywhere, hospitals and its corridors echoing with cries and grief. And the deadbodies? – flung into the wagons and piled up just like any other sack of wheat.
The tracks saw the most unfinished stories of its time – books of a 5-year-old Disha who was going to her nani’s house. A man’s wallet containing his wife’s picture as he was moving away in search of work. Gifts by a son for his mother as he would be visiting her after months.
The ancient land of Kalinga (Odisha), where Samrat Ashoka turned weak and terrified looking into the massive bloodshed has again turned into the same today . But the question remains, who is Ashoka here? Who needs to be transformed after this bloodshed? The Government? The Infrastructure? or the eyes and beliefs of Aam Janta?
