What is the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre?
On March 31, 2023, the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), a performing art, multidisciplinary cultural, and exhibition facility, opened its doors in Mumbai, India. Nita Ambani, a philanthropist and chairman of the Reliance Foundation, established the centre to “preserve and promote Indian arts.” It is a section of Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex’s Jio World Centre complex.
The opening:
The opening of the cultural centre was one of the most significant events of the year with celebrities from all over the world including supermodel Gigi Hadid, actor Priyanka Chopra to YouTuber Emma Chamberlain attending the event.
It brought out a glorious and authentic side of India that is many times overshadowed by other things.
The NMACC was founded to use costume, performing arts, and visual arts to present a sensory journey across India’s rich cultural heritage.
I believe that this cultural centre will help glorify the heritage and art forms of India and truly depict was our country stands for.
