Some practices have been a part of our society for so long now, that people have stopped thinking and realizing whether they are good ones or bad ones.
For instance, every girl in our society is taught and instructed to share everything related to her life with her parents or siblings, whoever she is comfortable with. The basic reason presented behind this practice is her security and safety. The elder members of the family then guide her and help her in dealing with life issues and therefore, make her strong enough to live her life.
However, once a girl becomes a daughter-in-law, the same habit is termed suddenly as backbiting!!! How???
Why do husbands and in-laws move around with raised eyebrows, suspecting the daughter-in-law of giving some gossip to her family?
How does a good habit of sharing every bit of information become a gossip habit suddenly? Just because the in-laws consider themselves superior and so their information should not be leaked?
And these are the same in-laws who feel proud and secure when they receive every information about their daughter’s whereabouts…
